McCall's 7570, c. 1981, Pants

McCall's 7570
c. 1981
Misses' Pants

Pants A of border print fabric (no side seams) have waistline with mesh shirring elastic. Pants B with elastic in waistline casing, are open at sides below thighs and tie at ankles. Pants C, open and wrapped at sides, have elastic in front waistline casings hooked in back, pants back is gathered into waistband which ties in front.

More harem pants! Remember this McCall's pattern from 1980? Well, in 1981 they issued yet another "Make It Tonight, wear it tomorrow" version of the semi-harem pants. I say semi because only the pants tied at the ankles are reminiscent of harem pants.

Of course I sewed view B - they were fun to wear dancing. And view A was sewn in a lightweight border print. Border prints were quite popular at the time. View C? I never understood the appeal of these wrap-around pants until I purchased a pair for a warm weather vacation. Now I could not imagine a vacation without a pair.

By the way, did you see the McCall's "Hammer pants" in the newest offerings? Guess it's time to pull out those zuba patterns once again...

Love your blog. I enjoy looking thru my old patterns. I have some marked 25 cents. Those were the days.

I posted the picture of the "hammer" pants on my blog. I still have not sewn the ones you sent me. I am pregnant, so I will wait or just sew them for later.
Love this pattern you just post too!
