Butterick 4810, John Kloss dress pattern from 1970s

Butterick 4810
c. 1970s
Designer John Kloss
Misses' Dress

Dress, in two lengths, has fitted bodice, plunging scoop neckline with narrow self drawstring, cutaway armholes, exposed front zipper, bias welt at waistline with attached self ties, slightly gathered flared skirt, pockets in side seams, and narrow hem.

A John Kloss pattern from the mid-70s that I found in a thrift store. Paid a bit more than I would have liked to but isn't it wonderful? His Butterick designs were always so simple, yet so s*xy. I was going to include a brief bio of the designer, but it appears that Sandritocat has already done so. Click here to read the bio on her blog.

Note: this one's not for sale, but I found a size 10 listed on Etsy if you're looking to purchase a copy.

Seeing that pattern envelope brings back many happy memories for me. I was in jr/high school then, and I was on the top of my game with my sewing. I think I had almost every John Kloss and Betsy Johnson pattern available. The good old days of sewing right out of the envelope!
